Project: Observe 2 or more satellite passes

Tier: 2

Location: home

Other information, requirements, or equipment you must supply (may be blank):

Observe the same satellite pass over at least twice, or three passes from the same group of satellites (e.g. 2 passes of the ISS, or 3 different Iridium flares.) Mark the paths on a star chart, labeling each pass. Record the start and end time of each pass, and describe its appearance, paying special attention to the brightness and how it changes both during the pass and as compared to the previous pass. Also make sure to include the name of the satellite(s)!

Satellite observation information and predictions are available at http://www.heavens-above.com/ so you can plan your observations ahead of time. Iridium flares and the ISS are particularly good to watch.

All observations must be different from the tier 1 satellite observation project, although it is acceptable to use the same satellite.
