Project: Naked eye non-stellar objects

Tier: 1

Location: dark

Other information, requirements, or equipment you must supply (may be blank):

Identify/describe 2 - 5 non-stellar objects (other than planets) in the sky visible to the naked eye. This includes M31, M33 (in exceptional sites and for exceptionally good eyes), Plieades, M44, Orion Nebula, etc.

Describe how you identified the objects, and what they actually looked like naked eye (you may include a sketch). The number of objects you need to do depends on your observing location and time of year, but you should cover as many objects as reasonable from your location, up to 5 objects.

This combines well with a telescope observation.
