I study the formation, dynamics, and growth of supermassive black holes using semi-analytic and numerical techniques. My research has included the roles of black holes in systems ranging from merging galaxies at high redshifts to the dwarf galaxies around the Milky Way today.

Research Interests

  • Cosmology and structure formation
  • Active galactic nuclei
  • Black hole evolution and dynamics
  • Numerical techniques in astrophysics
